The map shows the total number of persons having tertiary level education per municipality in the Nordic Countries where dark brown coloured municipalities represents higher shares and municipalities in yellow the lowest. Education is a key qualification, and the pattern is quite clear, as the general level of education is closely connected to two factors, on the one hand to the population concentration offering qualified work opportunities, and on the other to towns and cities offering higher education opportunities. These places are attractive to industries relying on access to a continuous supply of qualified persons.
