This map shows economic potential across the Nordic Region at the regional level. Economic Potential is one of the three potentials composing Nordregio’s Regional Potential Index and includes two indicators: Gross Regional Product per capita and total R&D investments. Regions with higher economic potential scores are more likely to experience economic growth in the future. The map highlights the strong economic potential of capital city regions as well as a number of Norwegian regions. Lower levels of economic potential can be observed in peripheral regions of Finland, Greenland and the Faroe Islands.
