The Nordic average employment rate for females in 2012 was 72.5% while for men it was 74.6%. The male employment rate is at least one percentage point higher in most of Sweden, Denmark and Greenland, and in a large part of Norway, while Finland and Iceland show some interesting regional variations. The Faroe Islands stand out in the sense that even on the national level; the female employment rate is more than one percentage point higher than the male rate.
